I saw this game all the time on Xbox Arcade and always wanted to buy it. There was just something else out every time I had Microsoft points. It's just one of those games I never got around to playing.
I loved the creativity that was clearly bubbling away at Sega throughout the 90s. Comix Zone's concept is the kind of out-of-the-box thinking you'd only see with indie developers nowadays. With that said, I do have to agree with you: looking at Comix Zone is a lot nicer than actually playing it. I don't think I've ever gotten past level 3 or 4, and even then, I was heavily relying on my pet rat to find hidden health potions for me.
Maybe once Lizard Cube are done reviving Shinobi, they can tackle this game next :)
I'd love Lizard Cube to handle a remake of Comix Zone! Shinobi hasn't come out yet but everything I've seen look amazing and in keeping with the franchise's roots

The idea and visual execution is way better than the actual gameplay. But yeah it was fun going through it one time. It's in dire need of a remake
Good thing you didn't. One day, Xbox just yanks the license and leaves you with nothing. I have hardly anything left from my 360 years.
